On November 11, 2013, Just Food held the finals event of its second annual Great CSA Smackdown, a city-wide cooking competition for members of Just Food Network CSAs.

After hosting competitions to identify their most creative cooks, teams from Crown Heights Farm Share, Washington Square CSA, Grand Street CSA, and 6th Street CSA faced off in a culinary battle at Brooklyn Winery using local ingredients from Stoneledge Farm in upstate New York. Their dishes were judged by Jimmy Carbone (Restauranteur & Event Mastermind, Jimmy's No. 43 and Food Karma), Tamar Adler (Chef and Cookbook Author, An Everlasting Meal: Cooking with Economy and Grace), and David Colston (Executive Chef of Brooklyn Winery).

The competition was fierce, but in the end, Ashley Toombs and Jose Luis Chavez Rivera from Crown Heights Farm Share were declared the winners! Meet the winning team over on the Just Food blog and check out their winning recipe, Collard Napoleon Stuffed with Fall Ratatouille and Pear Chutney.
