Agricultural skills, community building, neighborhood outreach. Including herb, vegetable, chickens, fruit tree farming, as well as community work, supporting local gardeners.

Sounds perfect for Taqwa Farm. This is our general philosophy, plain and simple.
What experience and knowledge will you (the Supervisor) share with the apprentice?
All of it. Vegetable and herb gardening, fruit trees, chicken and egg production, farmer's market, receiving visitors, community development, compost operation.
What is exciting about your apprenticeship site?
It's got 38 fruit trees, chickens, sophisticated farm - only one of it's kind, accessible and open to community.

Farm School NYC students will find out about apprenticeship opportunities on November 20, 2012. They will then be required to submit applications materials to their preferred sites.
