City Council invited you to a town hall meeting on the topic on August 24 from 5-8pm at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, located at 199 Chambers Street. If you attended, let us know about your experience. For more information on natural gas drilling in NYC's watershed, check out the Don't Frack with NY! and Kill the Drill campaigns.

Help save global seed bank!

A Russian court recently ruled that one of the world's most important seed banks  may be destroyed in order to make way for a housing development. If allowed to stand, this decision will have a catastrophic impact on global plant diversity. Called a "living library", the Pavlovsk Experimental Station near St. Petersburg, Russia is widely considered the crown jewel of agricultural biodiversity, since 90% of the collection's varieties are not found anywhere else on the planet.  The ruling was instantly appealed, giving Pavlovsk Station a period of one month before any development plans can move forward. This judgment can be revoked through a direct order from the office of the President or Prime Minister. Act now to save the Pavlovsk seed bank!
