Get Involved With Just Food
Just Food can help you connect with a local farmer anywhere in NYC, no matter what your budget is! We’ll help you get fresh fruits and veggies straight from the farm.
KNOW YOUR FARMER - JOIN A CSA
CSA (community supported agriculture) connects you and your neighbors with your very own local, organic farm. With CSAs you get a full season’s worth of weekly deliveries of delicious seasonal produce at an affordable price. There are over 100 CSA sites in NYC. Find your neighborhood pick up site at justfood.org/csaloc.
START A CSA
No CSA in your neighborhood? No problem! Just Food can help you start one. We’ll train you to start a new CSA for your community or religious group, school – even your office! If you’re interested in starting a CSA, Just Food can help. Visit justfood.org/csa/how-start-csa-nyc, or contact Paula Lukats (firstname.lastname@example.org).
SHOP AT A CITY FARMS MARKET
It doesn’t get any more local than this! City Farms Markets sell produce grown right here in NYC. They sell urban-grown and regionally grown produce and accept SNAP (food stamps), Farmers Market Nutrition Program Coupons, and WIC. City Farms Markets run from June to November. Find schedules and locations at justfood.org/city-farms/city-farms-markets/market-schedules.
START A FARMERS MARKET
City Farms Markets are run by community members who want to bring fresh, affordable food to their neighborhoods. Contact Nadia Johnson (email@example.com) to find out how Just Food can help you start a City Farms Market.
Just Food can teach you how to make eating local easier. From gardening to cooking skills - Just Food’s classes and workshops will meet you where you are and take you where you want to go!
