How to Start a CSA

Now is a great time to start thinking about how to connect with a farmer and bring fresh, local, organically grown vegetables to your neighborhood in 2013! Join Just Food for one of our How To Start a CSA workshops and learn about:

CSA FOR EVERYONE

Many CSAs across the city are interested in creating flexible payment options so that members of their community can join their CSA regardless of their income. Just Food will be offering a five part workshop series focusing on including community members of all income levels in your CSA.

MONTHLY SERIES

Throughout the year Just Food hosts a series of workshops that pertain to the development of your CSA. These workshops are helpful to new as well as existing CSAs.

All workshops are free and held at the Just Food office (1155 Avenue of the Americas between 44th Street and 45th Street, 3rd floor) from 6:00pm to 8:00pm unless otherwise noted. To RSVP for a workshop, please e-mail paula@justfood.org

The CSA in NYC Program offers 19 workshops on various aspects of running a CSA. Workshop topics include: accepting food stamps at your CSA, developing your core group, planning a farm trip and adding additional products to your share offerings.
