Just Food thanks our Volunteers in Service to America

From 2003 to 2010, Just Food hosted more than 50 AmeriCorps*VISTA members. These dedicated volunteers committed themselves to a year of service to fight poverty and increase food security in New York City. The first crop of VISTA members built the capacity of innovative food security projects throughout the city, from east Brooklyn to the South Bronx. They raised funds for East New York Farms!, supported the launch of the Forest Hills CSA, and started an urban farm stand in the Bronx which inspired Just Food’s City Farms Market program.
