Youth Empowerment Pipeline
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
In 2019 Just Food piloted The Youth Empowerment Pipeline – a program created to bridge the experience gap between those involved in the food justice movement and to train the movement’s next generation of leaders. Its aim was to provide critical resources, mentorship, and learning opportunities to young adults that are at risk of aging out of youth-specific programming or are otherwise in need of gaining leadership experience by creating a viable pathway to participation in the food justice movement via skill building workshops and networking with various stakeholders in the landscape. The program catered to young adult New Yorkers ages 17-21 and did not require participants to have any prior food justice experience.
